THE HISTORY of Studio Plantes
Studio Plantes is a small French company created and managed by Adrien, a collector and fan of tropical plants, who currently manages the online store, network animation and the Strasbourg store alone.
Studio Plantes was born from a passion for tropical plants that took root when Adrien lived and worked in Malaysia.
The adventure began online in 2021 with plants produced at home in a Strasbourg apartment and then in larger quantities on the family farm in Busserolles (Dordogne); and at the very end of 2023 the first physical store opened its doors, under the name “Studio Plantes” in Strasbourg, at 37 rue du Faubourg de Pierre.
In August 2025, Tanguy, a competitor and friend passionate about rare plants, offered Adrien the opportunity to get involved in Rare Plants Collection.
A UNIQUE SHOP
Studio Plantes is a boutique offering a unique and exceptional selection of indoor plants for every budget. At Studio Plantes, you'll find plants you won't find anywhere else, and for good reason: their origins are the secret to the boutique's success. Between in-house production through cuttings, imports from tropical countries, and contacts with the most avid European collectors/producers, the range of plants is constantly changing. At Studio Plantes, you'll also receive expert advice on choosing aesthetically pleasing and long-lasting greenery.
ANECDOTE: THE FIRST NAME OF THE SHOP
Houseparty Plants, as some may remember, was the name of the shop from 2021 to 2024. The name comes from a... beer can!!
When the time came to move back to France, Adrien gave all his local friends plant cuttings in designer beer cans cut into pots. He still keeps one to this day; a can from the LERVIG brewery called Houseparty. A name that brings back nostalgia for friends, travel, and a passion for plants.
The name being too English-sounding, it will gradually be replaced by Studio Plantes, which is much more commercially effective on the French-speaking market.
KEY DATES
- 2021, creation of Houseparty Plantes, from 10 cuttings and setting up of the website, in Strasbourg
- 2022: move to the family farm in Dordogne to increase production capacity
- 2024: opening of Studio Plantes, a physical store in Strasbourg, in addition to online activity
- 2024: Houseparty Plantes gradually gives way to Studio Plantes as its main name
- 2024: Website change for a better customer experience
- 2025: Commitment to a second site with Rare Plants Collection
